Senior Vice President of Office Properties

Mr. Center has served as our Senior Vice President of Office Properties since December 2021, and previously as our Vice President of Office Properties from November 2017 until December 2021. He brings to his role more than 30 years of experience in the leasing, marketing, construction and operations of office, R&D and Industrial buildings throughout the Western U.S. From 2012 to 2017, Mr. Center served as Managing Director, Brokerage Services and Senior Managing Director, City Lead of Corporate Occupier and Investor Services for Cushman & Wakefield in San Diego. In 2016, Mr. Center was recognized as a CoStar Power Broker. From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Center served as Vice President and Partner at Bixby Land Company, leading all leasing, marketing and construction activities for the company’s 5.6 million SF portfolio in California, Nevada and Arizona. From 2006 to 2009, Mr. Center served as Senior Vice President of Office Leasing at Shea Properties where he was responsible for marketing, leasing and tenant improvement construction including the office building at Legacy Park, an 820-acre planned mixed-use development in Tustin, CA. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Center served as Regional Vice President of Office Leasing in San Diego for Irvine Company’s San Diego office portfolio. From 1995 to 2002, Mr. Center served as an executive with Legacy Partners Commercial in several capacities including leasing, operations and asset management. From 1993 to 1995, Mr. Center served as Assistant Vice President at MONY Real Estate/ARES. From 1990 to 1992, Mr. Center served as an agency leasing broker in the South Bay/Los Angeles office of Cushman & Wakefield. Mr. Center holds an MBA from the University of California, Irvine and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He served as president of the San Diego chapter of the NAIOP in 2008 and served on the Board from 2004 through 2010 and again from 2014 through 2016. Mr. Center is a licensed real estate salesperson in California.

Ernest S. Rady

Executive Chairman

Mr. Rady has served as Executive Chairman of our Board of Directors since January 2025. Previously, Mr. Rady served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from September 2015 to December 2024. From our initial public offering in January 2011 to September 2015, Mr. Rady served as our Executive Chairman of our Board of Directors. Mr. Rady has over 40 years of experience in real estate management and development. Mr. Rady founded American Assets, Inc. in 1967 and currently serves as president and chairman of the board of directors of American Assets, Inc. In 1971, he also founded Insurance Company of the West and Westcorp, a financial services holding company. From 1973 until 2006, Mr. Rady served as chairman and chief executive officer of Westcorp. He served as chairman of Western Financial Bank from 1982 until 2006 and chief executive officer of Western Financial from 1994 until 1996 and from 1998 until 2006. He also served as a director of WFS Financial Inc., an automobile finance company, from 1988 until 2006 and as chairman from 1995 until 2006. From 2006 until 2007, Mr. Rady served as chairman of dealer finance business and California banking business for Wachovia Corporation, and also served as a director from 2006 until 2008. Mr. Rady currently serves as chairman of the board of directors of Insurance Company of the West and chairman of the Dean's Advisory Council at the UC San Diego Rady School of Management. Mr. Rady received his degrees in commerce and law from the University of Manitoba.

Emily Mandic

Emily Mandic

Vice President, Regional Manager, Portland and Bellevue

Ms. Mandic has served as our Vice President, Regional Manager, Portland and Bellevue since December 2021, and previously as our Senior Property Manager overseeing operations of our Lloyd Portfolio from 2013 until December 2021. She brings to her role more than 25 years of experience in the operations and management of commercial real estate. From 2008 to 2013, Ms. Mandic served as Senior Property Manager for Langley Investment Properties and Ashforth Pacific, where she was responsible for their Class-A Office portfolio exceeding 1 million square feet of high-rise buildings in downtown Portland. From 2006 to 2008, she served as Property Manager for Norris Beggs & Simpson managing their contracted portfolio at Portland State University. Earlier in her career, Ms. Mandic served as Property Manager for Spieker Properties, Harsch Investment Properties and Brandywine Realty Trust in Philadelphia, PA where she managed retail and office portfolios in both urban and suburban markets. She currently serves on the BOMA Board of Directors and the Lloyd Community Association Board of Directors as Secretary, where she has held the position for over 9 years. She is also an active member of IREM, and is currently an instructor for the BOMA International “Foundations of Real Estate” courses. In 2019, Commercial Association of Brokers and BOMA Oregon selected Ms. Mandic as Property Manager of the Year. Ms. Mandic is a native of Portland.

Senior Vice President of Retail Properties

Mr. Sullivan has served as our Senior Vice President of Retail Properties since December 2021, and previously as our Vice President of Retail Properties from September 2015 until December 2021. From our initial public offering in January 2011 to September 2015, Mr. Sullivan served as our Vice President of Retail Leasing. Mr. Sullivan brings to his role more than 35 years of experience in commercial real estate leasing and management. From 2004 until the formation of our company, Mr. Sullivan served as vice president of retail leasing for American Assets, where he oversaw all aspects of retail leasing for regional, community and neighborhood shopping centers in California, Texas and Hawaii. From 2000 until 2004, Mr. Sullivan served as the director of leasing for National Retail Partners, LLC, a commercial real estate advisor to CALPERS, where he managed the retail leasing for a national portfolio of over twenty retail centers. From 1995 until 2000, Mr. Sullivan served as director of leasing for Burnham Pacific Properties, where he managed the retail leasing of over twenty southern California retail centers. From 1990 until 1995, Mr. Sullivan served as vice president and general manager of Seaport Village, a large waterfront shopping center in San Diego, California. From 1985 to 1990, Mr. Sullivan was a senior leasing representative for the Hahn Company, a national owner and developer of regional shopping centers. Mr. Sullivan received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Mr. Sullivan is a licensed real estate broker in California and an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
